Casa Cielo
Santa Fe, New Mexico 2016
For this challenging site in the Santa Fe foothills, the residence and guesthouse are finessed into two parallel building benches. Reminiscent of local cliff dwellings and European hill towns, outdoor rooms are woven into a sheltering floor plan with views of adjacent and distant mountains and valleys.
Traditional forms and materials are used in a modern interpretation of the Santa Fe vernacular. Photovoltaic solar and storm water catchment ensure an energy and water efficient home.
